My new kitchen will have white shaker cabinets and I'm going for the look of the slightly oversized hardware. I just went to the place where I need to pick them out and the style I like (brushed nickel bar pulls) come in like 10 different sizes. Is there a formula for determining the hardware size so that the hardware is on proportion throughout the kitchen? For instance if I have cabinets that are 42 inches tall and others that are 24 or 36" tall. Should I try to find hardware in 1/4 the height of the door for instance? Or can some cabinets have larger cabinet height to hardware height ratio?
