Nothing! It is one of my fears. Is there a name for fear of things put under a bed?

I have a couple of flat plastic boxes filled with smaller handbags. I'm sure it's surrounded by cat fur, all 3 take their turns underneath. I love this bed pictured. I always wonder how comfortable they are though with no box springs. Any thoughts from anyone? I have fibro, so finding comfortable furniture is something I constantly struggle with.

My husband's collection of running shoes. I don't know what they're doing under there but they seem to be multiplying. I thought the woman was supposed to be the one with all the shoes!

handbags - loads and loads if them !! and the odd Christmas and birthday present - as none of the family ever look under there !! ( hope they don't read this !! ) bed is 6'x7' so you can imagine just how many handbags we are talking about here !!!
... and in other rooms there's Scalextrix track, summer / winter duvets and suitcases I think ?!

I have the Pottery Barn Stratton bed with drawers (available only online these days), so that's where all my extra linens are, extra pillows, and off season clothing lives - love having all the storage there!

Antique mirrors. Lots of antique mirrors that will get hung one day

Have three of those zippered shoe storage bags under the bed, one with shoes and two with assorted craft/art items. Easy to pull out before using dust mop under bed and a great place to hide all my goodies.

I have enough hair to clothe half a dozen Malamutes and a medium St. Bernard. I'd wash it, card it, and spin it, but I don't knit.

Under bed space is such an under used space! The long plastic bins made for this space are great to store things that aren't used often, are bulky, or are seasonal. What about storing blankets, seasonal sports gear, holiday items, out of season clothing? Some people buy the plastic pullout drawers and store the children's clothes at a level even the younger ones can reach. Containerizing toys and stuffed animals in the drawers prevents the open and dump style of some. Try labeling the drawers with pictures for non readers and words for those who are big enough to do that! Teens like the drawers to put electronics in, store private journals etc.

Nothing. I have a water bed. I don't have an"under."

Someone above asked how comfortable is a bed with no box springs. We have a Tempurpedic mattress and it comes with a box without the springs. Very comfortable. Springs can carry Electro Magnetic Frequencies and need grounded so as to eliminate it otherwise. So I just eliminated the springs to solve the problem. Still has storage room.

Great idea line and it has inspired me to try putting my folding chairs that go out on the grass by the lake under the futon bed on the sleeping porch. :)

Also we have a platform bed with just an inner spring mattress on it with a "cushioned" mattress pad - guests love sleeping on it - under that bed are guest linens. But that also answers the person who asked about a mattress only as she was looking for comfort as she deal with fibromylagia.

I-robot is a remedy for dust - I let him loose in the bedroom about once a week :)

No dust bunnies, wildlife, or storage under my bed. When we bought an 18 inch mattress and box springs it was too high for me (I'm 5' 0") to get in comfotably so we took away the bed frame and put the box springs directly on the floor (carpet). Now I don't have to worry about things getting lost under the bed, or cleaning under the bed, but, the downside is that there is no storage under the bed.

Old laptop, laptop bags, old and current backpacks, all kept in trash bags to keep dust off of them. Just cleaned out the space under my bed last week so all dust bunnies were "taken to the farm."

Just cannot resist: I have a wonderful Murphy bed! Lift to close and vacuum!

sstar93, they are wonderful dogs. I have a good friend (much younger) who is on her fourth. They're a bit too large for me. She had a wonderful male named Guinness who was around 150 lbs I think. He was so sweet. Unfortunately he died from bone cancer several years ago. He was the first Berner I ever knew and judge all by him :)

When "little people" come to visit, I have two cats under my bed. They don't care for "little people"!!!

Umm, four suitcases with carry on bags inside, three boxes of out of season clothes, two large baskets for books and papers and that is just in the master bedroom! Daughter's bed has Rubbermaid bins with purses, boots, clothes, etc; a total of eight. Another bed has a futon under it, ready for guests. The space is climate controlled so superior to the attic or basement and the organized clutter is invisible. Wish I still had a skirted sofa.....my magazines miss the concealed storage.

My bed is so low to the ground even ants hit their heads! I hate stuff under beds in the first place, just me and my weirdness. At least the vacuum cleaner head fits and the dust bunnies have no place to run no place to hide!

Same as Mandy. Hubby's running shoes lining one side and the bottom of the bed because there is no room in the closet. Mine are in there. Hate it when the vacuum grabs the laces.

Another unique storage under the bed idea is to pick firm green tomatoes at this time of year (Sept), wrap each tomato in newspaper, place on a tray and put under the bed. We are supposed to have ripe tomatoes by Christmas.

LB-using a container for all those running shoes will help to keep them from sliding into the far reaches of the space and keep laces out of the vacuum. Hubby can also quickly see which shoes he wants.
Fuzinav- Have you tried a decorative box for the magazines under the couch? You could make your own by cutting a box to fit and covering it with paper or fabric in a print or solid to blend or accent. Baskets work as well.

Thanks joanhardin. Hubby would get annoyed with having to take his shoes out of the container, I know him too well. You know men. Likes things simple! But thanks anyway. I love decorative containers and boxes. Decorative containers are all over my house and all have a use for storing something that shouldn't be seen.

@LB, my husband is the same way! Besides, I don't think I could find a container that would fit 10+ pairs of size 13 running shoes!

Platform bed - so nothing!

Canvas storage zip containers with about 200 vhs movies! Sadly, we edited and donated many movies to charity but still have 200 left! We still have a vhs player (and a collection of DVD movies). My husband is the "collector".

I keep under the bed clear so it's easy to clean under there thus avoiding dust bunnies or dust elephants. I used to keep under-bed storage boxes under the bed, but dragging them out to vacuum under there was such a hassle and dragged so much dust out with them that I stopped and keep it simple to clean.

Under the bed is where roomba earns his keep, daily. No dust, no nothing down there.

Absolutely nothing and prefer it that way. I want it cluttered free so I can keep it very clean, its gets washed underneath the bed every week.

Anyone with a robotic vacuum care to comment on how well it works? I had a Roomba a few years ago. I liked how it cleaned (especially under beds) but found that the battery died after just a few months. I had the type that didn't have the base station so I would have to remember to plug/unplug it. Not sure if that affected the battery life.

Nada! Makes cleaning much easier.

I had one until it died. Didn't want to spend the money to get another one.

Lopipopi: I had a Roomba when they first came out. I dont know about now, but when I had it, I had a cat, and it got full of cat hair very very quickly and the container is very small. So, a little bit of a pain in the rear. I think the cat hair killed it, it didnt last long.

@Lynne Mysliwiec, how do you like your Stratton bed after having it for a while? Any problems with mold? I'm considering it for master bedroom. Thanks!

I do like the Stratton bed very much. It's really important to get a good mattress because it's a platform. No problems at all with mold -- and I love the storage.
