What to do with the space between tv and buffet?

Just started purchasing furniture for our small condo. I know it needs more, but am unsure of how to proceed. By the way, those white shutters and mirror are from the previous owner's Cape Cod themed design.

Very nice room! Choose an accent color and get pillows in that color and maybe a rug to tie in with them, too. That will cozy up your space.

Oh......maybe take down the round clock over that door opening. It is too high and will be enjoyed more when it is lower and on a smaller wall.

I agree that the clock looks a bit lost up there, but believe it or not, the walls you see in the picture are the ONLY walls in the common space. My husband is lost without a clock, so there you have it. :)

You've done a good job. Recommend moving the small shelves over the TV. Try dropping the two side shelves down to the sides of the TV and lowering the top shelf about 3 or 4 inches.

You're in desperate need of a large size rug. This is the perfect opportunity to add some color in your room and brighten it! Something like this orange in a 9 x 12 could work.

Some fun framed vintage posters would pick up some color, too. Possibly to replace the print behind your sofa and tie in with the orange rug.

I understand about the clock and the need. Thanks! What about that small wall area next to the opening instead? Over the brown basket on the counter?

Yes! I know I need some pops of color added to the space. Posting some pics of newly purchased art. Was thinking maybe yellow or green?

Some ideas that I've been thinking about: a light or tall plant between them, two poufs or ottomans.

If you want to truly make a home yours look at paintings whenever you're together near a gallery, arts festival... Whatever you pick will have a true memory of a great day and you will never regret having spent money on that.

Move the pictures over the sofa closer together. Replace the pillows with ones that are less matchy-matchy.

Love this last pic! I was going to suggest getting a plant to put between those two pieces, but I like the little galeery wall there AND the plant on the other side.

take a color out of the picture above the sofa and use for rug and pillows...maybe something in terra cotta for contrast to the floor

The room looks like it could use a rug.

I think yellow and green. They are great colors to go together, and doing both will brighten up your space.

Added a rug as suggested, and since we needed more dining chairs, decided to make them part of the living room space. Kept the shelves over TV since it's a new paint job and they're Mollied in. The rug made a huge difference, and now we have more seating in living room, and no longer need folding chairs when we have six for dinner. Here are some pics.
