Will you be painting the cabinets? Are you changing the countertops?

I'm not sure about the cabinets. On one hand I like the wood. On the other hand, they're so plain. I want to pick a wall color first and go from there. I like the countertops. Any suggestions on the wall color?

I would not paint your cabinets unless they are in bad condition. From your pictures they look fine.

I can see your kitchen painted in a pretty aqua or fresh green color. Then I would remove your window coverings and replace them with a simple, patterned roman shade that has your new wall color in it. Buy some new tea towels and a rug to match. Make room for a bright vase or bowl with some fresh fruit in it.

I'd change it to a more muted green. What colors do you like? What look are you going for? Country, modern, traditional, etc? I think the cabinets are fine. I would change the hardware to match your style aesthetic and remove the curtain over the window and put in some bamboo blinds in a dark brown color. The curtains make the room look dated.

My entire home decor is modern. The kitchen has two doorway openings. One leads to a dark blue entry room. The other leads to a dining room that has shades of gray and the furniture it gray and black.

If the budget allows, why not install a modern backsplash like glass tiles and paint the walls a gray tone that matches the cabinets.

I want to do a backsplash but I was afraid it would clash with the counterop, which is a granite type of finish.

Looks good. It seems like the pulls would look better a little darker. The wall paint, any muted color, not bright. No curtains, just a shade. Backsplash not necessary. I'm sure there are some not too wild for counter
