any thoughts on which color would work better?

The lighter one for sure. Show contrast. Don't match every thing mix it up. Add print pillows to sofa try chevron print in a color. Orange is good or yellow, lime is big now.

style wise they work great. don't know about scale since they are pictured separately and no dimensions are given.

just given these two pieces, I like the lighter table better with your sofa. but it obviously depends on what other pieces are in the room.

Lighter one.

Stay with a very contemporary look. No rug over rug. Even a piece in reclaimed wood adds interest. Don't forget windows. And color is your friend. Big art hung very low.

Yes, it works .. I too like the lighter one.

I am trying to redecorate the room.another open question is also what to put as a side couch/chars. any ideas are welcome!

Can you post more photos?

Now I still have the old couch on the other side. Looking to replace it with a chaise or chairs maybe?

Hello! I would recommend the lighter table with the darker sofa to create contrast and interest. I would also recommend some fun pillows and/or a throw to brighten the space. As for the side chair, you can do a a great color or even a pattern - See attached photos. Hope that helps! Good luck.

Lighter table- definitely!

definitely lighter but is this the look you want - modern?
