Yes, they were. And it does make it soooo much harder. My mother-in-law was a lover of all things vintage, Victorian and anything antique really- so it's very difficult to not want to keep everything. But they are great pieces and it's not fair for them to just sit in our garage when someone else can appreciate and enjoy them. We did keep a couple of pieces that held a lot of sentimental value.

i sold a pc similar to the top one, mine was a dining buffet. Sold it for $125 on craigs. I read china cabinets have fallen from favor...don't know if that's true but it took a while for me to sell mine.

Can you seek out specific advice for the instrument? Might be worth your while. A local store or music teacher? A music school?

yes, mostly you have Victorian and early 20th century pieces. The wooden spoon is very interesting, you should research it further. Take the violin to a reputable dealer for evaluation. The dry sink looks quite new.

They are all very interesting, especially the smaller items. We have LOTS of Blue WIllow China as well, but I'm having trouble parting with any type of dish or cast iron cookware :( We are keeping a piano that was to be given to my daughter that has been in the family for three generations. It still plays great! And we have roll top desk that I am going to attempt to refinish (wish me luck....).

Did anyone find the former President George H.W. Bush in that class photo? I thought that was pretty interesting.

The dry sink is in good shape, but it's pretty old. The doors no longer latch and the back is pretty worn. I wanted to update it a little but I just don't have time or a place to put it :(
