It does work! You're off to a great start but I do find there's too much furniture so I suggest changing the layout if possible. I would swap the couch and the chairs but space them out more from the fireplace (everything looks crammed). Show off the shabby chic console table by putting it behind the couch. The lamps would look much better on this console table. Get rid of the glass console table and the shelving in the corner. Get an accent table to put between the two chairs. This one has the same legs as the console table.

It's really nice, but I'd change frame or color them. This is the cheapest ikea frame- i sand them and color with acrilic

I think the shelf behind the wingback woven cane chairs is crowding the room. have you thought of a lush, tall plant in its place?

The room looks beautiful. I'd just move the pictures on the console table. They are competing with the pretty prints above. Nicely done! You should be proud. :)

Hi Elaine, love everything about the room, great work:)!. The console does need some work though. I don't know about you but if this is not an antique piece try patching the scratched off with paint or repaint with same color, or different one if u like ( to match all pieces of the color pallets u have going on). Console is great we're it is with the beautiful set of pictures...hope this helps...

I love the console table - but you don't see it where you put it because your chairs are too tall. I agree that your living room is too crowded - and think you need to either get rid of your chairs or get smaller, lower chairs and a glass coffee table which will make the space look larger and more roomy.

Hi Elaine, question for you. Is there a walkway opposite of the fireplace? Did you try putting the sofa opposite the fireplace? Maybe if you arrange the chairs one on either side of the sofa, the room will open up. You will also be able to see the console table then. I really like what you have done with the room.

If the table behind the sofa is approx. the same height as the shabby chic piece I'd try them on either side of the FP. Flip the sofa to the opposite side. Put the white hassock under the window with the two chairs angled where the sofa is now. On each table, put one of the lamps and stack two of the quad pieces vertically that are now above the SC piece. Remove the FP mirror and get a professional to mount it over the wall of mirror in the dining room with its center 60" above the floor where it should reflect a chandy, not the opposite wall. Try a tall bookcase where the SC piece was. Add a great piece of art above the mantel and another on the wall opposite it. Hang stationary floor to ceiling drapery panels in a soft print.

I would like to suggest, I would move the side table to the other wall where the book shelf is, under that picture. The side table is too big for that wall its on. Then I would put book shelf where it is, and raising the four framed pictures to a better height for the shelf. Then I would separate my two chairs, making a walkway thru them. It all looks good you did a great job.

Love the table, but wondering if it might fit better proportionally on the left of the fireplace, as it seems squeezed in. Decorate it with only the framed pictures and add the ones from the mantle. Move the present picture over a bit and add two pics above each other next to the picture and do the same with the other two on the other side of the fireplace and make sure the grouping is on the low side. Move the table from behind couch and place on the right of fireplace. Move your couch back a bit and make the middle area of your room feel more spacious and roomy. Place charis parallel to each other, vs on the angle. Also, I think your fireplace could more of a focal point by changing the items.
