Those that actually use a bidet love them and wouldn't go without one. I have not had that experience so I wouldn't want to waste that space nor do I personally want to look at it. Silly I'm sure but just not raised having one.

It's a personal decision. For me, it completely puts me off to see an open bidet or urinal. I'm one that insists on the toilet seat being down at all times when not in use. Thankfully my husband does not care to use a bidet, but if it were important to him then I would insist on it being in a closed toilet room unto itself, so I wouldn't have to look at it gathering dust and be reminded about it's purpose every time I see it.

The appearance doesn't seem to bother you, as you have the toilet seat up and leaning against the plant...so, if you use the bidet, keep it -- I personally would rather have the Linen Cabinet [and I also would ditch the plant]. Do what makes YOU happy! :)

Why not get a Toto toilet that does everything in one piece, it even cleans itself. They cost a lot but they are awesome.

Even nicer is the dura it Starck sensowash. It combines toilet and bidet so elegantly, plus a seated heat is wonderful! $$$ but so worth it and less than installing a bidet and a toilet

She isn't really asking what kind of toilet to get, but thanks for the update on toilet tech. Will wonders never cease?
Have you tried the bidet? That should be part of the decision.

Leave it alone it will be of good use to you once you get use to it , I wont go into detail, all that I can say you will feel and be much cleaner.

Ditto re: the Toto (and other brands) of washlet. They combine toilet and bidet, and save space. They are costly tho'.

, I was just trying to show that the OP could remove the bidet by combining it into the toilet/bidet... While freeing up space... If a bidet is considered an asset in their area, it might be nice to know options that exist.... But, as you say, toilet technology is getting pretty sophisticated! However I couldn't be without my warm loo seat. :-)
