Window treatment ideas?

I don't want to cover window but think I need some kind of window treatment to prevent nighttime reflection and daytime light issue ... It is really only an issue when TV is on. Outside window is a beautiful garden that people see as soon as they enter house. It is directly across from front entrance of house. Photos taken from foyer.

Do you actually use that baseboard heating? That's going to definitely have an impact on how you handle this situation. If that's how you heat your home curtains won't work.

Once I lived in a condo and had sliding glass doors which I covered with a large wood blind. Not sure that would work either. Something to consider.

I think if you place a drapery rod high above the window, you can make the wall appear a little longer too. Here are a couple examples.

I was afraid of that. Maybe honeycomb blinds? Shutters would be lovely and expensive.

I loved my wood blinds but they were a bit heavy to raise and lower but I could do it without too much trouble.

What are the dimensions for your window?

Like the honeycomb idea. Shutters would be too bulky and awkward to open and close daily.

Honeycombs would be a great option because they will block the light and give you privacy when you want it but you can raise them up when you want the window to open and it's a small stack at the top
