How about a warmer grey for the brick and a warmer orange red for the door to be more compatible with your roof? Here is an interior photo that shows these colors. And this would be less stark than a true grey, black and red.

I think it would look great! The challenge will be to find just the right taupey gray - I think they call it greige now. Go for it!
(It might be a good time to update the portico, relatively inexpensively. All stucco or adding a little more millwork?)

Thank you so much! I had never heard of "greige" before, but now I see we have a wealth of options. I've read on here that when you paint brick, you sign yourself up for a lifetime commitment to maintaining it. I can't see the value or potential in its current, tired color, however. It could be I just lack imagination.

It's immaterial, your brick is already painted. You're painting over paint, not brick.

Hi......Look at BM Willow Creek for the body and trim, and for the shutters BM Gray. I'm
not a big fan of red doors, I like to have a lot of options with flowers/landscaping, so I
would do BM Gray for the door. The white around the windows, does that need to stay???

Exterior face lift ideas . I have never liked the exterior of this house. There is not enough room to put shutters on the right side to help break up all the red. It is a two story house and left side has a lot of siding. If I paint the brick, would I use same color for siding to make siding blend in/or go away. Looking forward to some good advice. Thanks!
