My ex was an incredible carpenter and he made our kitchen cabinets out of milled cherry and finsihed them with shellac and some kind of sealent. They re 24 years old and still gorgeous BUT I want to paint them white! as in Shabby Chic-- without all the prepping sanding etc. Can I use kils and then paint them with a flat chalk like paint to give them that old look?
