We typically cover over plywood decks with more finished materials such as wood planks, parquet de Versailles, stone, tile, etc. Doing so may give you more of the look that you are after.

Depending upon the grade of the plywood and its current state, it may be possible to stain it. Like JMA mentioned, this is most likely not to achieve the aesthetic you're looking for. If you're interested in a raw material similar to plywood, you might try OSB (oriented stand board), but make sure it's finish-grade (OSB/1).
