does the all kitchen floor need to be flat?

Dear All
I wanted to know when fixing the kitchen flooring should the all kitchen floor be a flat or the place to put on such things like cabinet, refrigerator, dish wash machine and cooker should be a higher (few centimeters) than the rest of the floor kitchen. I don’t know if I have to fix tiles to all kitchen floors or to leave aside the area that the cooker, dish washer and refrigerator will be stand on. What is the proper way?

I think this is a discussion between the Kitchen installer and the tile layer as I have been undertaken both options when installing kitchensI prefer to tile the entire area in case of a kitchen changeout at a later date. You also must tile under the dishwasher where I am located. If in doubt tile the entire area - you will have an even surface to work on for the baseboard placement. (I am in Switzerland might be different standards for US)
