I deal in landscape and hardscape products so I cannot be much help with the color or structure of your home. But, when it comes to curb appeal I know that landscaping can make a huge difference. So here are a few suggestions.

If there is anything you can do about the cracked driveway I would suggest looking into it. A good repair or replacement would help. I know pavers can make a world of difference. But, they can be expensive. If you have questions about pavers for walkways and driveways please contact my company and I can help answer your questions. But, for now I will focus on landscaping.

For the most part I see the color of you home and landscape is very neutral. You have low maintenance/low water ground cover and plants. I think by adding some color, texture and a focal point could make some simple and inexpensive improvements.

By replacing the rock in your planting area with some colorful smaller rock like gold fines, mexican pebbles or ginger rock you could creating a fresh look that would tie into any color accents you make on your home. You could also use mulch in this application. There are different color options available.

Also, one large or two to three different size boulders would make nice accents and focal point to draw your eye into different parts of your landscape. Boulders are great because they add color, dimension and texture. They can even be converted into a water feature. Use boulders that compliment or even contrast the colors of your home.

Some planter boxes made of retaining wall block or even some thin veneer as a wainscot would also add a lot. But, I don't know what kind of look your going for or what your budget is.

Agree with Darzy with the color, posts and lighting. Your driveway really looks sad. (Sorry) If it can be repaired then stained it will save it for a few more years. At least stain the porch, steps and risers. Otherwise go for pavers. Right now you have too much concrete to add rock to the planting beds, a mulch would soften the look. Can you build a 6' high and long fence or wall to hid the trash cans behind on the right of the garage?
I see trees on either side of your house, can you add a variety of at least 4 or 5 more to soften the front. Magnolias, pines, birch, aspen, etc. More shrubs in front of the windows on the left too. Azaleas, fringe flower, hydrangeas, don't prune them into shapes.
I'd also replace the front door with a natural wood door.
When you get a new roof, go for a light gray, wood shingles or steel.
It really is a nice home, but looks hot with all the concrete and no greenery taller than 2'.

A fresh application of a nice colored mulch could do a lot for curb appeal here along with some plants/rocks. Color enhanced mulch will retain it's color for a good 6 months before it starts to fade. An idea for the driveway...if you can put some paver bands down the center and across where the cracks are if it will look right, it would improve the driveway without a total redo.
