Stairs could be a different material than the main floors.

Dark stain and light red oak?? maybe a light oak stain but those two together///mmmm you may end up hating the color of those stair once you see the beautiful new dark stain floors. Either stain the stairs the same or put a different floor in the entry like a Solid Stone or Ceramic forming an entry between both the dark stain wood floor and the light red oak stairs and choose a color that will bring the 2 together.
