Need help with my fireplace mantel?

We recently moved to a new house and mounted the TV without thinking about the heat of fireplace and not having a mantel. Do you think the heat will damage the TV? Any low cost solution? Any recommendation on where to purchase a rustic wood for the mantel in the second picture.
