Do you like the rose color?

Not sure this color would work with your rose but maybe another color with contracts.

Well, as a stopgap measure, you could replace the sink with a modern, white rectangular sink, and a grey stone top.
Paint the walls pale grey.

No I don't like the rose, bit the cost of taking out the rose whirlpool would be prohibitive. Perhaps the sinks and toilet could go?

Your walls look wallpapered, so prep accordingly if you decide to paint. I would be more inclined to leave it, remove the burgandy accents and doilies, and freshen the shower curtain.

I like the idea of grey walls...there are 2 sinks and the counter is a rose laminent...perhaps they could go

In which case, paint away! Grey could look well, as could new counters.
The challenge in updating spaces like this is to keep them looking cohesive. You have a matching porcelain set; breaking that up won't update as much as it will point out the half-measure taken. For the same reason, I think the faucets would look better in a shiny chrome, to coordinate with the shower area.

Additional smaller measures might include painting the woodwork slightly darker than the walls, and regrouting the tile. A fluffy rug would also be nice, if you don't already have one.

Rose and black might be an option.
Paint the vanity black and white for the cabinet. White walls and toilet and sinks. Black and brushed chrome accessories

If you are up for a larger project, retiling would provide quite a change. With a light reflective mosaic, using simple white (pink, grey work ,too) walls and cabs, marble-look counters,glass knobs, and framed mirrors over each sink would pack a punch.

Paint would be the most economical option to update any rooms.

I am currently facing the same situation with the same rose colored bathroom... I am leaning toward getting new white toilet and sink at Home Depot and having the tub sprayed white, in addition to painting...this may be a lot more than you want to do though. Good luck!
