What width are the planks?

They look great. Here are some 10" wide Character White Oak planks we made for another Houzz user. The ones above look like 7" or 8".

We are laying 3 1/4 inch select grade plain saw white oak and I want to apply a natural finish that will not yellow. Any suggestions? Thanks

Go with a clear water based poly finish.

what is your opinion on wide floors with respect to solid vs engineered. I can't get a clear answer from most sellers of hardwood. I am thinking of doing white oak select in 7" as a solid. some say it's ok others say the in northeast - because of humidity- anything wider then 5" has to be engineered.

A lot depends on the installation and climate controls you will have in the home. If you cant decide go with an American made Engineered floor with a wear layer the same thickness as a solid floor. Best of both worlds. You can email me with any questions. joel@oakandbroad.com

I have much the same question, I am in SW florida & would like to use 3" white oak. Will it stand up to the humidity? We are on the 6th floor condo on the beach & rarely use the air conditioning, but it is on when we leave for Canada during the summer months.
