I hate you! hahaha Just kidding! This is amazing...I'm totally jealous. My garage is a 1-car, stucco covered, dirt floored, hut!

This pic was taken over 6 years ago when I bought my place. The yard looks MUCH better! But the garage is still the small hut!

Love your garage! It's the first time I have seen both a fridge and a flat screen in a garage though...it's a winner for me :)

Thanks for the kind words....The flooring tiles are interlocking/floating. Ive spilled several different things on it and it cleans up very easily with water. No stains. These are not the perforated tiles which allow drainage. I think I paid $1.08 per tile from Bigfloors.com

Thanks. Yes and no. I paid my nephew $100 to move all my crap out of the garage into the driveway, install the flooring and move all the crap back inside. Then I built all the cabinets and arranged. The flooring is too easy to snap together. takes a little over an hour. A child could install. Its like a puzzle.

Wow!!! While I was reading your story of everything you purchased, I am thinking, "we shall see". Bowled me over. Excellent work on everything you did. Looks so cool, I love it. :))

There is one other item i'd like to add to the garage makeover. Id like to add a ductless a/c & heater unit. Has anyone had one installed in a 500 sq. ft space? Does anyone know of an affordable unit? manufacturer, etc?
I think you have us stumped with the "affordable unit" part. lol

Malcolm, this is awesome!!! I have dreams of having my garage look this nice. I think you've inspired me to get moving. (and I'm female! My husband doesn't care at all what it looks like out there.) Kudos!!

Sweet! My husband wants to transform our garage into his mancave, since there's no room for one in the house. It's about the same size as yours. So I'll have to show him this. He doesn't have all the "crap" (your words, not mine, lol) that you do, so he'll won't need much storage space. Question: Do you still park your car(s) in the garage?

For years I had a single car garage. All I used it for was parking and storing a snow shovel and a ladder, but I always dreamed of it looking just like your makeover. Just fabulous. Now I live in a condo with shared parking. The dream garage came off my bucket list :-(

I am also green with envy. When I moved in here, the plan was to do something similar (minus the TV - there is no man here in need of a cave, it was meant to be mostly for tidy storage) When you say it is easy to put together, speak for your self :-) I bought some Ikea stuff, then had to pay nearly as much to have it put together, as I couldn't. So, I got some quotes for garage units and when I saw the prices, I gave up on the idea. I ended up getting a couple things like these https://www.google.com.au/search?q=garage+shelving+systems&newwindow=1&rlz=1G1GGLQ_ENZZ295&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=bOBoUr_eBMn2lAXj9oDICA&ved=0CFwQsAQ&biw=1396&bih=600&dpr=0.9#facrc=_&imgrc=QWXfgIduQklawM%3A%3BdTEpmju5Q0wlXM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwardrobeaus.files.wordpress.com%252F2012%252F06%252Fgarage-shelving1.jpg%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwardrobeaus.wordpress.com%252Ftag%252Fshelving-2%252F%3B503%3B395 which even I could put together. Better then nothing I suppose, but still green with envy

This is so cool for a picture but how do you get your car doors open when 2 cars are parked in this garage???

I was just about to ask the same, with two cars in our garage we can only have shelving units on one side. Otherwise, this is beautiful and very well done.

2 car garages nowadays aren't as spacious as they use to be with the increasing size of Trucks, Vans, Suv's and Sedans. 2 cars inside has always been too tight for my liking. With the Makeover completed... I only park the newest vehicle inside on the right side of the garage. With the passenger side doors open...there's plenty of room for egress under the Wall hanging cabinets. Our second car is parked outside on the left side of the driveway. Last year I had a driveway extension poured further to the left of the existing driveway...the Truck resides there. With only one car in the garage there's ample room to enter, exit, load, unload, work projects, do routine maint. on the car, hang out and just basically enjoy being able to move around in there without feeling crowded. I have to admit, a 3 car garage would be perfect though.

very wonderful redevelopment, everything is beautiful and wonderful thing is that you liked it
  • 12 years ago
Well, let me first say that it's very neat product. When I saw it in Home depot I knew I had to have it. The product name is dead-on. "Garage Power Station". It allowed me to invest my money in one item instead of 4. The space savings is key. Since its essentially a ceiling mounted work/task light, air compressor, electrical outlet all in one cord! The cord is 25ft long! Plus there's LED lighting and an air-gage that's housed in a sweet looking dome unit. It adequately aired up a car flat and bike flats. Its very lightweight and easy to install. The Only issue I had was the plastic roller that allows the braided air hose to retract inside the unit sticks frequently which doesn't allow the hose to "catch" and wind up once pulled. Subsequently it got stuck and the hose reed in rubbing a burned groove into the plastic rollers. If those rollers were upgraded to hollowed aluminum or steel? I'd give 9 out of 10 stars. As it stands your at an 8 only because the $130.00 price tag might scare off some buyers.

    Hope this helps.

Malcom, you will be happy to know that the price was just moved down to $99 (last week, in fact). We'd love a review on our Houzz page; would you be willing to provide one? Thanks for the feedback, very helpful!

    Amazing transformation!!

Reno, I believe the floor tiles cost me about $700. The cabinets I caught on sale for around $1,500.
