Need help with ideas for an addition.

I live in a farm house built in the early 1900's. We have taken an old woodshed off of the back and are in the process of putting a deck on the side. My problem is I don't know how big to make the addition, what it should look like, roof lines etc., without compromising the integrity of the farmhouse. I need a main floor bedroom, mud room and laundry room on the same floor and want a family room. Any ideas would be appreciated! Oops! I took a photo from my phone and it printed upside down!
