Of the three, I prefer the third choice because of its shape (it matches well with the base) and the detail. It also provides a really good wash of light by comparison to the other two and doesn't look frumpy at all. Nice lamp!

#1 if it were 1/2" shorter. My 2nd choice would be #3

I think I like 3 best. I'd keep the same lamp on each side of the bed.

Are you sure you can't use a barrel shade in linen? I just replaced the shades on my lamps in my formal living room that are very similar in shape to yours. I used the barrel shade in linen and I love the look. BTW....my formal living room is very formal. Think queen ann. :) If you stick to your three choices, my vote is for #3

I like the first shade the best. The warmth of it pulls the warmth from the wood it is placed on. You can of course switch it up and choose a different lamp for your side of the bed vs. your husbands. Elements of surprise are always fun and creative- no need to be matchy matchy all the time!

Wow #3 bell shade looks to be the best pick right now Thanks for the input. I just wasn't sure if #3 was too big. Now I'm adjusting to it though after having smaller shades.
I do still want to mix in another lamp for my side when I find one. Just want one that reflects more my style and matchy matchy is not my first go to. I also really like that night stands now reflect each person's style a lot more.
I was also curious about some sort of drum shade. Haven't found one the right size and feel it may be to modern on grandma's lamp. Found this corset like drum shade that's giving me some ideas. Maybe not this size but something similar. Or maybe I should just be happy with #3 .

This is somewhat close to what I would like the bedroom to be like when I'm done making roman shades and fixing an old brass bed I picked up. Our room would be a bit warmer though with the beautiful Douglas fir trim in our upstairs rooms. The desk lamp shown is pretty close to for what I'm looking for on my side.

My vote is for the drum shade. Updates the lamp instantly. Sorry, I called it a barrel shade earlier. But that is exactly the kind of shade I used on my lamps.

#2 you can see the bulb in the first and too bright on 3 Depending how busy the room is with stripes, flowers, wall art, the simple shade and the mellow light is more appealing.

What about a happy medium between drum and #3. A curved drum shade?

The drum shade looks best for sure. I personally don't like looking at the metal rods that give the shade it's shape when the light is on. The drum shade really compliments you beautiful lamp.

The 2-tone curved drum shade that kjdick posted gets my vote. Love it for modernizing your grandma's lamp. I think its perfect for what you're trying to do.

The curved drum shade is beautiful. It compliments your lamp beautifully. Have you considered a lamp with an architectural element in a complimentary metallic finish, such as the lamps designed by Elaine Gleason? It's not the industrial look that you mentioned but these lamps could work well with your existing lamp and design esthetic for your bedroom.

Ok it took forever to find more lamp shades that fit these lamps. So here's the latest. This is the curved drum shade in a gold/beige color.

Next is a simple tapered drum shade in a light gray/silver fabric. This shade is also available in a simple off white.

Ok here's the last option . This Taget shade is pretty close to off white option I found. If I were to get the off white shade I would add some ribbon for trim around the top and bottom to make it look similar to the first curved drum shade I posted on Oct. 23rd .
