I love the idea of recycling old pieces and breathing new life into them. It is a worthwhile pursuit as it is cost effective and often older pieces are for the most part built with quality construction and materials. A bit of paint in a fresh current color can really make a statement in a simple clean lined bathroom. The key is to keep everything around it simple simple simple ! We used a Benjamin Moore paint called Spanish Red in a matte finish and then applied a glaze over top. Once dried, we clear coated it three times with a protective layer in an oil base polyurathane.
