Live edge or no live edge on dining table?

I am having a table made out of walnut, drawn to live edge but afraid it trend will pass or already has? It would be more finished than this example with a gentle ease verses too much variation if that makes sense. Any thoughts, the other option is normal table, live edge on bench......I live in a 1928 bungalow.

Not so sure it's a trend. Trees have been around forever.

I think live edge has been popular and maintained appeal from mcm design to date. It is a beautiful addition for rustic modern and think it has always been, not just a trend

I like natural, organic style. If you like live edge, go for it. After all, you are the one who lives there and has to like it:)

Would be interested in what you decided to do about your table- live edge or not. We recently purchased one but now I'm confused as to how to set it for meals- placemats, chargers - because the edge is irregular. And still no chairs! Do not want a bench because they're hard to sit at- want some back support.
