I recently replaced all the carpeting in my home with a beige frieze. It looks great, but the color turned out much darker than I anticipated. I'm at a loss for deciding what two paint colors I should select for the walls in the guest bedroom and the master bedroom. The master bedroom has 5 large windows and lots of natural light, but the guest room only has 2 windows. I'd like a neutral of sorts, but I don't want the rooms to be drab with all the beige. Any suggestions? Pictures of the carpet and rooms are attached.

Hi there.

Your carpet is beige so don't be too afraid! It's a neutral which means it will go with a shade of every colour.

I would actually start your design from a fabric that has your carpet colour in it - then you can pull the wall colour from the other colours in that patterned fabric!

I've attached a few colours that would love lovely with your carpet (all are Benjamin Moore):

Vellum (207) which is the golden neutral
Dreamy (1425) which is the greyish blue
and Halifax Cream (344)

Why not select the two darkest thread colors from your carpet and have them color matched at your local paint store?

Then use the darker brown in the Master bedroom and the medium color in the other?

I think pale, sea-glass colors would look nice with this carpet: sea green, pale aqua. The carpet sort of reminds me of the colors you would see in the sand and sea grasses at the beach.

We have this same color carpet in our living room and office. The color I had on all the walls in the house was from Lowe's called Ginger, which was a burnt orange/copper/leather color which was a little dark. So after 2 years I changed it this past July to Silver Fox in the living room and Iced Julep in the office. Silver Fox is a blue/gray and Iced Julep is a mint green color. Both lightened up the rooms a great deal. I'm very happy with them.

To go with my above reply, I've found some fantastic fabrics that would tie into the colour scheme that I've suggested. They're light and neutral but definitely not boring as a trio!
