Indeed a beautiful Fireglow! Will it do well in Los Angeles climate? Does it shed leaves?

Hi - In terms of heat, I suppose it depends where you are in LA (near the water or inland), but in general I'd guess the temps, sun and lack of true season change would not be good for any Japanese maples. I know that they are used in coastal Northern CA. To know for sure, I'd check with your local nurseries. Yes, it does lose its leaves - deciduous.

They can do quite well in Southern California - especially if they get a bit of shade. Actually I have one in full sun in a container and it's beautiful!

Hi Suzette - its always best to consult your local nursery - while they are fine in full sun here, we get a lot of winter rain.
