Standing seam.

This roof is a standing seam metal roof. It is difficult to tell whether is is a snap lock or a hand seamed roof from this picture. The seam of a self locking panel is typically a little more wider then a hand seamed panel due to the clip and the profile of the panel in order to lock together. Both roofs are considered to be far higher quality then a standard exposed fastener style metal roof. The self locking panel will typically be much cheaper and in my experience they are very sufficient for residential use. I do not have factual proof but I would think that the hand seamed roof may hold up a little better in extreme winds. Hand seamed standing seam is used frequently for commercial applications.
