The house was built in 1754. We have removed all the plaster to expose stone and beams. Lol, still haven't found the flooring I want. I do like the idea of changing curtains and placing couch in front of fireplace. Thanks,

Have seen a nice makeover in a similar room which was done in restrained Moroccan style. The clients were very happy.

I love the space, and your different pieces and their textures. But I agree, perhaps make more space by removing some items. Also, incorporate instead more items with a unifying color scheme that runs smoothly through all the pieces and the room. It may help give the space a more singular identity and flow.

I'd start by putting one of the couches directly across from the TV and fireplace. Then I would decide which serves your needs better, the two chairs or the other couch. I'd remove the small tables along the wall opposite your windows. Repost pics and we can go from there. If it is too difficult to move your furniture, please post room and furniture dimensions and I can do a quick 2D drawing to help you rearrange and try different options :)

Thank you for the advice. This room has been a work in progress for a year now. Still needs trim and floor completed. The good thing is we have electric and lights now in this room. Lol, yes really. The dimensions of the room are 13x18. I have a total of 5 windows and the huge stone fireplace (which dates back to 1741)

Where is the 5th window? Above the TV or on the wall with the entry?

How many people will be sitting in this room on a regular basis? You seem to have a ton of seating just wondering if it is all needed. BTW love the room and your wall color - very pretty!

You've done an amazing job so far, WOW! I think you need to remove some of the furniture and show-off the amazing structure of the room. Any chance of seeing more pictures of this house? BTW, do not remove the beautiful Labrador retriever sleeping on the couch, he's gorgeous!! :)

The 5th window is to the left of the fireplace. The stone wall will have trim around windows like the colored wall. The trim we are using is actually flooring from this room. Only reason we did that is because this room had pine flooring and the rest of the house has chestnut wood. I try to repurpose everything in this house. Should I put wood flooring in that's light in color or dark like the beams and rest of flooring throughout house? I attached a pic of the other fireplace we have in the house located in the summer kitchen. Yes, I painted rocks on the floor.
