    Hi Gayle, glad you like it. This is just a common 2-1/4" solid oak floor with a custom stain finish. I can't remember the exact stain formula, but it was based on chestnut color.

    how high are the ceilings?

    This home was a standard HUD home before we renovated. So the ceilings are standard 8ft.

    Marcus, The floors are real hardwood and the stain is Minwax "Classic Gray" it's beautiful. One of my favorite finished.

    Thanks Laura. You're right, this is solid oak strip flooring. We stained it to harmonize with the rift-sawn oak lsland cabinet. As I recall it was one of the chestnut stain colors, but we also mixed in a little walnut or ebony to darken the floor as well as wash out some of the red in the chestnut.
