Need color help

I am nearing the end of a kitchen remodel and need help deciding on wall color for the kitchen wall and the LR that is now open to to it. I love color! My dining room is Sherwin Wms "drizzle", an aqua blue. The entryway is the same color but slightly darker hue. I am pulling colors from the living room rug. For the kitchen should I go with a green or off white or an orange? I don't really want to repeat the dining room blue. The living room is presently a pale yellow. I'm thinking that may be better as light beige. But the kitchen is my biggest question. I'm leaning towards an orange. Please help!

You really have to look at your exposure before deciding color. North? South?east, etc. these exposures can determine color choice .

Orange and blue are very pretty together. A toned down or muted shade of burnt orange from the rug might be lovely. One consideration, however, is how will that color work with your current cabinet color? Are you planning to paint the cabinets?

We are not painting the cabinets. I think an orange without too much brown works pretty well. Is that about right, do you think?

pick a few colors that you think you might like, paint an entire piece of poster board each color. Tape them to the walls in your kitchen, in different places. Move them around at different times of the day to see how they look in changing light. It is too hard to tell how a color will look from a tiny paint chip.

A pale coral or yellow green. Having that many colors from room to room will tend to visually make the rooms too separate, disjointed and all the rooms will feel smaller. MO I think a little too much stimulation.

Don't put yellow next to blue ,it was done to death in the 1980s

How about finding a paint color to match the lightest color in your backsplash next to the white. It might be the glass, but there is a hint of color in the picture. Unless you want to go bold.

I could do off white but I really prefer more color especially since all the hard surfaces are now white or nearly white. I really appreciate everyone's input!

My daughter thinks I should go with cream and just add color accents in accessories. Any thoughts?

Changed my mind about the colors I suggested previously. I think I would use a color that is in between the lightest gray color and the next darkest gray color in the gray backsplash tiles. One that is not too light and has enough contrast with the whites. You would need to get some paint sample cards and choose one from that. The darker grays in the tiles are too dark and the lightest gray is too light. I would not use any other strong color and think it should be a neutral.

There is a possibility that you might be able to use a blue gray, but it has to read enough gray and not look like a blue color. Gray with a blue undertone. Not sure there is such a color.

Color choices are always difficult to make by oneself! My opinion would be to stay close to the shade of your countertop or splash, as your daughter suggests. I would keep your new color toned down and select colors from your other rooms as decor. A kitchen usually holds it's own with the cabinets, tile, appliances etc. It looks very nice.

It's difficult to suggest paint color on our computers. They read differently and are always different in the actual space. Just gave you some ideas. : )

I would use a darker gray that is in the tile that will show as a neutral and allow you to accessorize with any of the vivid colors from the other rooms. You have weatern window exposure so warm afternoon sun going down so think the orange tones are too warm with the warm cupboards. With all the color is the other rooms, I think the off white would be disjointed in the kitchen and look like primer next to cupboard color and other rooms. You love color, go for it.
