If you are using site finished floors you have 2 options. 1) use another wood as a transition strip in the doorways Ex: Walnut or cherry with the floors matching the wood in the rest of the house (say white oak) 2) A good floor finisher can match the stain fairly well given you have the same species and width of wood. Often when the floors are newly finished they look a bit lighter and will darkern over time.
