That is kind of a neat light fixture, but you said you aren't keeping it (plus, it doesn't look adequate enough to light the space well, honestly), so let's think of other options. If you do like pendants, a larger ceiling, drum or bowl pendant could be a better-looking choice that lights the area better.

What a fun area! Not sure I would get much done, as I would be looking out the window the whole time!

Looks like the outlets are on the wall you need them on. What about a tall piece with the shelves connected to it....armoire or vintage secretary type. That would fill in the area and everything you need would be on one wall. Then had a nice piece of art on the wall opposite the window. Not sure who would see it, but it would cozy up the area a bunch.

Oh, get a fun desk chair....with a pattern that has that blue in it.

You could provide shallow full height bookshelves along both walls, which would create quite an accent element. Within those bookshelves could be custom designed and built an area for a computer workstation. It may be built into the end wall bookshelves similar to where it is now.

Or you may just build one full height element at the end wall with desk and book shelves. On the long adjacent wall you could provide a few random shallow shelves for accent and decoration.

If you want to turn this area into a office space, that window will be a wonderful asset when it isn't sunny. However, if it does bring in a lot of light, you might want to consider adding a cellular shade or sheer shade to block some of the light and the inevitable glare on the computer screen. storage/shelves on the left wall, create a desk against the back wall. You don't have much room, but it will just fit. You will need to do something about the light. If it is north, it is fine, but any other direction will require some light modification if you are are read the computer screen.
