Love the gray can go so many different ways and makes a statement. Many have white , black, oak etc gray is unique

I have white cabinets and it isnt an issue to keep clean... About once or twice a month, I wipe them down with a cloth and I cant say why they stay clean.. maybe its the finish on the cabinets? I love them though because they give the room a clean and airy feel. I say go with what you want because if you love them, it would be a labor of love maintaining them and not necessarily a chore :)

Gray cabinets are more 'trendy' compared with white, just be aware it might be out of style 10 years from now.

White cabinets will never go out of style.

I would love to have white and I love the style you have shared. I think a darker colour can be stunning, but it depends on the size of the kitchen, and as said above, grey may go out of style but come on, it's down to your own personal preference and how you style it with accessories or appliances.

The dirt is there whether it's gray or white. The white is crisp, fresh and clean, just the way your kitchen and food should be.

White uppers and grey lowers? White perimeter grey island?
If I could do my kitchen again I would mix white and in my case stained. I like too many things :)

My next kitchen will be unfinished and I will have my painter take them to get the doors sprayed at a paint shop…cabinet or car repair and use Muralo paint.

I will never again spend money on pre finished.

I just love the gray! Get what you love, don't worry about what's in or out. IMO, a light gray will be "in" for quite a while.

In 2000, there were three of us putting in new kitchens, the other two were putting in "golden oak" and I did the painted white cabinets. They sort of laugh and said that the painted cabinets were old fashion. 13 years later, both are complaining how dated their "golden Oak" cabinets were and how they wanted to paint them...My white cabinets--still in style. My "new to me" house had white painted cabinets install in 1936 and are still painted white.

My vote is for white.;)

We love our white (actually ivory) cabinets and have no trouble keeping them clean, but I still voted for gray because I love gray cabinets too. We chose an ivory kitchen because all our trim in the house is ivory and we wanted a consistent look. But if I were designing a kitchen without consistency in mind, I might choose gray cabinets with white accents, just for a change. White is, however, more timeless.

We have both, dark gray and white. When it comes to cleaning or showing dirt, I don't see a difference.

If you love white, get it...I think it looks too stark, a soft gray is neutral, and lovely!

I'm not sure the layout of your kitchen, but what if you incorporated both? You could do gray base cabinets with white uppers for a beautiful look. Or perhaps a gray island and white perimeter cabinets. Post pics when the kitchen is complete!

I love the look of gray, but I think it may just be a design fad. White looks great and can easily be cleaned with magic eraser. Good luck!

When talking about white cabinets as always being in sytle does that extend to cream or variations of white? Or only to stark white? I'm about to do a traditional cabinet but feel stark white is a little too bright for me. My idea books tend to cream or off white.

Cream and off-white cabinetry are usually included in the broader category of "white" painted cabinets and are usually just as timeless, juplips. With white (broadly interpreted) kitchens, it is usually the door style or material of the cabinets that gets dated (along with countertop and backsplash materials and styles) rather than the color. My own home, built in 1929, has had four different kitchens over its lifetime, all variations on white. Only the door styles and materials have changed (from original off-white Shaker cabinets to white flat panel metal cabinets in the 1940's to white flat panel MDF in the 1970's and back to off-white Shaker wood cabinets in 2010).

On my third white kitchen so I'm a big fan. My last kitchen had shaker style cabinets and I hated them because I was forever wiping the edge at the bottom. Now I have totally flat panel-love them. I like that they show the dirt because I want to see it so I can wipe it off!

There are a thousand different greys-very hard to match.

Gray is beautiful but I feel it's the trend right now. White is a classic.I don't think you could get tired of it.

Grey because do you care about what people think are what you think so what i'm saying is it doesn't matter on votes it matters on what you like.

I appreciate all of the input. I originally had white in mind. Then in speaking with several contractors, I've had two people bring up dirt, with white cabinets.

But hearing from everyone, I'll go with white since that's what I originally fell in love with.

I had also planned everything else around white cabinetry, my flooring, paint and trim work all work with white cabinets.

If I went with grey, I'd be starting over entirely with my whole color scheme.

White are more classic and I think pulls and handles will take are of your dirt issue.

I put white cabinets in my kitchen - I'm very happy with my decision. People warned me that they'd be tough to keep clean, but surprising it's not hard. I just wipe them down real quick. I think white will never go out style , keeps your kitchen bright and inviting.

Go for a dirt color. Problem solved.

I would go with what you love! If you make a choice based on cleaning you may regret it.

As much as I love the gray, I have to say white for the long run. If I were able to change out my cabinets every five years I'd go for the gray in a second!

I remodeled my kitchen 32 years ago with white cabinets. When I again remodeled 4 years ago, I put in high gloss white cabinets. I love my white, bright kitchen! Never had a problem with dirt and always get compliments on the colors. You can bring other colors in through the countertop or backsplash and paint.

I'll post a picture of what I ended up choosing. I went with White cabinets, and incorporated gray in my island. I really like how it turned out.

The lighting isn't the best in these pictures. But here is the work in progress. They need install the backsplash, and finish installing one of the cabinet doors, and countertop on one side.

Because I did love that gray...I used it in my kid's bath vanity, as well as a similar shade in the laundry.

I would go with white as it is classic and the grey is just a trend. Also for resale, if that is ever to become a factor, white makes much more sense. I doubt I would ever buy a house with a grey kitchen.

Go with the white cabinets. They are not that hard to keep clean. We have them and love them.

Quite honestly, a cream or pearly cream ( what I have ) is much better but it depends on you. I have seen grey kitchens, and they do look quite nice actually. Pictures of grey kitchens don't do them justice, I would try to see some kitchens at a showroom of each colour before you make final decision.

I like the white for your space. Your photo of the grey shows a beige floor. I personally think that the white works well with the floors in the room--and for me if you go with the grey then the beige floors might need to be changed out.
