Don't be afraid of dark or bright colors, if that's what you like. The color you chose will largely dictated the mood of the space. What furniture do you own? Do you have an ideabook on houzz, search for "Living Room" in photos and save the ones that you are immediately attracted to. You should soon start seeing a pattern in your likes and dislikes. Simply to ask the crowd what color to paint the room is a bit counterproductive. It is your space, your sanity, your serenity, your choice. This is what Interior Designers are good at, making it work for you!:) Happy painting!

I looked at your idea book. I got a feeling you like lighter earthy and neutral colors, but you also like contrast, and definitely pretty upholstery...

Thank you so much for the feedback. Actually i already have in mind what i want to do but i am unsure....well i don't have a big budget for nice furniture u sent... I am planning to paint the walls light gray tone (gray on warmer site -not silver or blue) have black furniture from ikea, gray sofa, a brighter color armchair and glass small table. I am going to brighten the room up with bright colorful pillows and colorful paintings. What is the name of the color u sent me?

That sounds great, the color is Revere Pewter by Benjamin Moore, a big favorite on houzz:)
