What style is the exterior if my house???

Our house was built in 1955, which I feel like should make it a rancher. It's got three bedrooms upstairs and another two downstairs in the basement (was finished in 2004 - so totally different feel). Upstairs has been redone in the kitchen/bathrooms, so there's nothing retro about it anymore - also a little bland. Still has it's original wood floors. I am in love with bungalows and always have been. Our house is desperately in need of some curb appeal. So what direction do I go outside?

not a bungalow, more ranch, use bungalow colors arts and craft adds like window box and typical front door and do not forget some good landscape

I call your house a ranch bungalow. As glacierspeed suggested....landscaping. This will make a big difference. You may want to consider some color on your home as well by either painting the stucco? Not sure from the picture if it is stucco. The front door could be painted a bolder color. Larger house numbers would look nice.

Think it's a ranch style. Would paint the garage door ( which looks small and stands out too much) same beige as horizontal strip on house. Trim windows and columns and railing in white to bring it out more. Things look very dark under the porch. Landscaping would be nice, flowers in that small grassy area under the porch railing.

I would paint the whole house, garage, porch posts, railing, one solid color. I would probably use a greenish grey or taupe. I would go eventually to a darker textured roof. Plant some landscaping on the opposite side of the porch to give balance. A Japanese maple would look nice. Faux stone on the foundation and under the porch.
