I hope someone can help. Just curious - how long did your cabinets last before they started to peel?

The cabinets are 13 years old....there is 28FT of cabinets to be replaced.

Home depot's estimate for installation is 9500 before any cabinets are purchased.

I think wood mode makes a better cabinet. regardless of which cabinet you pick consider one equally important factor that is often overlooked, who is doing the installation. A poor installer can make beautiful cabinets look like junk.

Can you post a close up of the door? As Carosella above said, the installer is more important than the cabinet brand. There are a lot of companies that make nice cabinets. I would focus on finding the right person, then use what doors they sell. Refacing is one option - new doors, drawer fronts, and thin veneer over cabinet face frames. Refinishing frames is another option, then install new doors and drawer fronts - also finished at the same time as the frames - or cabinet boxes. Either way, make sure you can see their work and attention to detail. Also learn what finish products they use and decide which is right for you. A lot of companies use builders-grade lacquer. This is not water resistant and can chip off after just a few years. Look for something more durable. Spend time with your local Sherwin Williams if you decide to go that route.
