Fence strong enough to keep horses in?

We are getting ready to build a new home in Covington, La. Since we have horses, would this fence be strong enough to keep them in?

    This split rail fence prime purpose is for boundary definition. If you intend to hold livestock, especially horses, I suggest stacking rail members higher and place additional bracing to anchor insecting sections. The beauty is adaptabliltiy and simplicity, but rail splitting is the challenge.
