Color Palette Dilemma! Please help!

I am trying to help my son and his soon-to-be fiancee bring the period feeling back to their mid-century modern home. Gray, turquoise, purple along with cream or white were the colors they selected. The rooms are small. There is a living room, dining room, kitchen, two bedrooms (one used as an office/music room) and 1 full bathroom on the main floor. The master bedroom and en-suite bathroom are on the second floor. The problems that we are having with the color choices are:
1. There is a brick fireplace in the living room that has a mixture of brown, beige and red bricks
2. My son has already changed the kitchen and bathroom counter tops to Ubatuba granite
3. The large sectional in the living room is beige.
Suggestions?

Handymam: Still waiting to see if it will be a wedding with dress uniforms or tuxedos...........

YUP! He will be wearing his dress whites!

They make a beautiful couple. Navy dress whites are the only uniform that comes close to Marine dress blues! :D

I like dc's suggestion of the BM Elmira White. Another to consider would be - and I'm not kidding - BM Going To The Chapel. It is lighter than Elmira White, but the BM site pairs it with a dark khaki and a brick color.

happyasaclam, you are too funny. I will check out colors. Thanks

Trying unsuccessfully to find combo. can you give me a link?
Go the the Benjamin Moore site and search using the name. dclostboy recommends Elmira White very often and I like Going to the Chapel. They both look really nice with tans and brick colors.

Hi kitty73warren! Excellent idea but they will only be there for 2 years. When the Navy moves them to their next station, my son wants to rent this house. They plan to permanently settle in Austin when his commitment is over. We want to spruce up the house and capture the midcentury style of the house but as inexpensively as possible.

I am going to SW to buy their color deck but I am marking down all your recommendations. I will need a color to paint the cabinets. The floor has tiles in a gray, beige mix.
    The bathroom, that is.
    The color will be fine

I have BM deck and am looking at litchfield. I like it. It has some gray and beige in it, I think. Should have most of the walls the same color because the house is small and you can see into one room from another.
Yes,put pattern and color in curtains ,pillows and art.

I can sew a bit. I like your idea! Should I go dark gray or brown for the cupboards. I was thinking of changing out the hardware to rod pulls. They seemed to be more mid century modern.
I meant to say the same color throughout the house (litchfield)
Is comfort gray for the bathroom similar to litchfield?
Yes,keep the walls the same color throughout

I think I would keep the cabinets white, but if there is room for a small island, paint it Galveston gray by Ben Moore and make wood top...
You are talking about the kitchen. I was thinking about the bathroom.
What is wrong with the color it is?
They like turquoise/teal, dark purple as accent colors. I was thinking about turquoise and orange in the main floor rooms and upstairs in the master bedroom and ensuite...?
    They are pretty scruffy.
Just go over them with similar color?
The counter tops in kitchen and bathroom are Ubatuba

I was thinking spa for the one you have pictured, white towels with maybe teal initials

Spa?? I like the towel idea. Repaint cabinets brown or a deeper gray?
I would keep them the same color, the comfort gray will look good with the granite tops

You can also buy a couple of sheets of glass tiles 2"x2" on mesh sheets cut apart and glue them to the outer rim of the mirror over sink, easy and cheap, looks classy too..

Wow you have given great ideas! I must run as my diabetic dog is vomiting mucous and not eating so we have insulin problem :(. Good thing I am a nurse! Will catch up with you tomorrow. If I can impose upon you, I may ask your opinion about a couple of pieces of replacement furniture. In the meantime, thank you for all the info and has a good night!

If I paint the kitchen in SW Comfort Gray, is there a particular white that goes best with it?

Almost finished! Just Some detail questions:
    1. Living room & dining room - walls BM Lichtfield gray
    Turquoise curtains from Ikea
Accent colors are turquoise & orange
QUESTIONS: I need a white for trim (Dover White seems too yellow)
Can we use brushed nickel lamps with these walls?

    2. Kitchen & guest Bathroom - walls SW comfort gray
    - counter tops are Utanuba granite (dark green, almost black)
    - backsplash in kitchen is gray mix air stone
QUESTIONS: I wanted to use brushed nickel rod pulls on the cupboards but don't this is great on white cupboards. Can I use a deeper color on the same strip as Comfort gray for cupboards in kitchen and bathroom?
I was thinking comfort gray for the walls? Nickel rods are good on white cabinets.let me look ATP whites on a chart.sherwin Williams 7005 pure white

Comfort gray for walls of kitchen & bathroom. Or I could do the bathroom in lichtfield gray. Can you recommend a good color of orange to go with comfort (that I can use as a guide when getting accent pieces, curtains etc.)?
Look at crate and barrels pillows, they have great orange pillows, some with orange and teal prints,it's on line think this will pull it together.
