Thanks Becky, I did see those ideas. I was looking for thoughts on angling the peninsula to use more of the old dining area. What do you think?

Hi sudsy, I think a island table with countertop attached will provide the best use of your kitchen. A peninsula might not be ideal for everyone when you decide to sell. Not sure how big the window nook is but it will perfect for a reading chair.

Thanks Dytecture! We had thought of that configuration but needed a location for the DW and more dish storage as well as a larger counter work space. Also will get a small cabinet on the backside of the peninsula. I am actually thinking of replacing the window ( unfortunatley not big enough for a reading chair - nice thought though!) with a door to access the back deck for BBQing/entertaining. More thoughts are welcome! Thanks!

hi sudsy -what design did you finally go with? I like the original U shape and am considering it, hence my question. What size is your kitchen? Does it open to a family room on the other side where those bars are?

I went with the original design, and LOVE it! It is very functional. The kitchen was not big enough for an island. The kitchen is 12' by 18'. There was a bay window but now it is a bump out garden door to the deck. It is a family room beyond the railing. I have tried to attach pictures we took after comlpetion. Good luck!

Not big enough for an island, you say!! check out and http://folddownpro.com/page3.html

Thank you, sudsy. Looking for the pics.

Sorry, not sure why they do not seem to be downloading!! Have tried a couple of times.

thanks for your efforts. the diagram is useful. Our kitchen is a lot smaller -13X12 -so things would need to be scaled down and modifiied but the layout of the kitchen is nearly identical

Trying yet again! I could always email you one if interested?!

Opps - worked but wrong one - but a picture of it in progress! Will try another one!

thank you! lovely, lovely!

i would appreciate if you could e-mail me the pictures!
