Please tell me all about your range hood. We have a vaulted ceiling above our stove and the wall behind it is the guest bath so the only way to vent is up!

Hi Valerie, I'm not the expert, but I posed this question to a contractor I work with quite frequently and he said that venting vertically is not usually difficult. It really depends on your roof material. Asphalt or shingled roofs are easy to put a waterproof penetration in place. Slate and tile roofs can be more of a challenge. Normally a vent for a hood is 6-8 inches. I really hope this helps. Oh, and Happy New Year!
