Tribal is so much more interesting...both modern and traditional.

I gotta say the royal rug is an acquired taste. It's native to Rabat, Morocco's capital and can be found in upscale Moroccan homes.

I go for the Tribal. I grew up with those Persian rugs (everyone wanted one and everyone had a few)., so I don't want anymore of those.

I totally understand printesa! Heck I'm from Morocco AND I grew up around Turkish, Persian and Royal Moroccan rugs! Its very interesting how the trend out west shifted towards more simple and neutral patterns, rather than complicated and saturated ones.

Love the patterns in the royal.

Morrocan. I agree with dclostboy about it being both both modern and traditional so it's more versatile, easier to pair up with rooms which are styled either way

The Royal has such beautiful colors, but one must really love that RED. The red rug commands attention, whereas the tribal rug has a demure beauty that I appreciate. The tribal rug offers design versatility.

the tribal is so pretty, too, but doesn't work as well with my style.

tribal will work with many more interior design styles It's organic colors are more flexible as a design foundation.Royal looks like machine-made mass market. Color look synthetic.

Depending on how neutral you would like your room to be- the tribal one is low-profile (yet beautiful) and the Moroccan one is bold and bright! What kind of look are you going for?

@bac6 both rugs are handmade of course. That's the beauty of the royal rug, it's executed with so much precision it almost looks perfect. It is also the most expensive Moroccan rug you can get your hands on.

@ MyCraftWork. so many cheap copies of the Royal can be found at discount stores. I appreciate the intricate work of the real thing. However, since the market has been bombarded with the cheapie rugs, I've come to dislike that pattern immensely.
Btw- your pin-link not working when I tried it

From your pics, it looks like you can loom larger than the typical 6 to 7" width...is this true?

    Yup @dclostboy...

I can admire the red, but you really have to have the right spot for it. The tribal would be very easy to use.
