I have never heard of "Tableaux" very nice, I love the look and direct sunlight and privacy are not an issue because of the location of our bedroom.

I like the faux wrought iron, and if you are artistic, you could maybe get a similar effect by stenciling directly on the window with housepaint. Paint can be scraped off with a bit of water and a razor blade if you change your mind, or you can maybe use the film and stencil on that.

Get a large picture...This one's 4' x 4' from etsy.com. How far is it from the mantel to the top of the arched window? You'd need something that covers the whole window.

Also I like the idea that somebody else suggested about shutters over the window...that might be easy to do. Lowes and Home Depot have shutters that you could purchase but then a frame around it I am not sure if you are handy this may work, but maybe too heavy looking.

Here is a photo of the film I attached to transom above a door in my home...the sun isn't shining on that side of the house but when it does it is really pretty but as you can see it is just really a nice look not over done etc.,

Remove what you have. No tie backs. Over fireplace keep shade then find a very large mirror hang vertically to cover to top of window. On side windows. Get roman shades. In a solid. A print is not good. Use print in bedding. Shades could be darker than walls. Why would any builder put a window over a fireplace. Crazy.

Use 3 of your candles on one end only. Never spread out items on mantels. Group.

Remove pic by TV ad a nice chair instead. What's on floor by other door? Replace that picture with long one by TV. Add hot pink, orange and red pillows to your bed. Fold top of comforter dn 1/3. Add a throw to foot of bed in colors of art over bed. Ikea may sell. With a small chair get a solid fabric one in red. Ikea.

No panels (curtains) over fireplace buy something big to cover window completely. Not like you show.

If you have a nice wooded view, here's a nice treatment. You could install remote control blinds that nearly disappear to lower at night if you can't sleep with moonlight.

Wow!! Thanks for taking the time to post all your suggestions! My head is spinning in a good way! I have already taken the curtains down. As far as the picture, A commenter had asked me to put one up there but If I put one up it would definitely be bigger! On the floor by the other door is a trunk. That wall is awkward as well… because if you put a cabinet or dresser there that is what you see when you walk in… I ordered solid ivory curtains because I agree with the ones there although I do love them.

I would get rid of all the current draperies and shades. Put Roman shades with a soft bottom curve on the two windows and have the window above the fireplace replaced with a nice stained glass window or if you need a less expensive solution purchase a large mirror and place over the window to cover. Hope that helps.

Tableaux is a custom product, the price depends on what size your window is. Each one is different.
No sill length curtains-they chop the room in half. The white blinds really stand out.

Take out the curtain above the fireplace. Hang a large enough mirror to cover the whole window.

I would continue the look of your mantel with raised paneling above the mantel all the way to the ceiling. I would also change your curtains to a neutral fabric. With just a couple of changes this could be a gorgeous bedroom.

I would put at large painting to go over the window and pretend it's not there!

Update! I found some old doors, rearranged a couple of things. When I get the curtains I ordered and finish painting the doors I will post pictures. Thanks again for all the advice!!

You had color in the room before and now you have gone muted, which I just love, so all that color screaming on one wall is distracting, but they are soooo pretty, too. Do you have another room you could use the two side ones in?

I love your wrought iron bed! Very romantic. And I love your new curtains. Try spreading them across to cover the rods and then pulling them back as you did with the others but a little higher -- say the lower level of the mantel. Black lamp shades with metallic gold interior would be pretty and pick up the black in your bed. I like the shuttered door over your fireplace. However, if you miss the light, a framed stained glass artwork as close to the window size as possible would cast some interesting light. It doesn't have to be an antique. Just get your dimensions and shop online. These new pieces don't weigh as much as the antiques. I also like the idea above presented by studio10001.

Beautiful . If you like the orange paintings, just be sure to lower them so the bottom edge is below the top edge of the lamps. It is ok to have the lamps infront of the paintings. I would almost tend to do the two orange paintings and remove the painting over the bed.

What an amazing transformation! What about the set behind the bed.

I hate being a stickler, but here goes. I liked the orange art on either side of the bed, but hung lower, closer to the lamps as was already suggested. Let your beautiful headboard be the focus. It's coming along nicely, just be careful not to get too 'matchy-poo' (identical lamps, artwork and tables). Think 'wild card' ... maybe a patterned blanket at the end of the bed or some contrasting pillows, or both!

The new curtains are 1,000,000x better! Night and day. Just out one of the three paintings up and it'll be soooo much nicer. 3 that size together is overwhelming

I also agree with Jennifer. Lower and behind the lamps. A curved headboard is difficult to hang pictures over and yours is so pretty it should stand alone.

That headboard wall would look great with NO art on it, too.

Additionally, I would not have the little stands under each window. Do you need them for storage?

Hello, Many times I have installed a mantle type wood trim around a window. You have this gorgeous mantle, and no trim on the windows. I suggest installing a smaller version of the mantle around the window in a similar style, and something ornate on the other two windows as well. Your window solution with the doors is great. You might try some blackout film on the arch of the window so it doesn't show through. I'm not crazy about art behind your headboard. Now that you have the louvers at the window, I'd like to see mirrors behind your side tables.
I'd also keep it all neutral - you've got something started and I'd keep it going. The art is not doing anything good for the room. Neutralize the throw on the chaise and feminize the black lamps and you'll have a great feminine glam look!

I eventually changed it and did this....

I think it would be cool to turn it into a faux stained glass window. They have the film you can cut and fit in the window. Then you would still have light. I also just put a panel on the right side of the windows to create a whole focal point. Good luck!
