BTW the picture angle is deceiving. The floor to wall is 96". the chair back height is 36". the bigger picture is 27" square and the smaller one is 15.75" square.

how about putting up some wall decals by the crib? no worries than if there is an earthquake. Some soft drapes would help give the room a warmer feeling. I like the paintings, is there another wall where you could put them?

You might want to give us photos of all walls. As for hanging a piece of art over the crib, you might want to consider security hardware for your large piece of art for over the bed?

will try to in the morning; basically the wall to the left of the rocking chair is mostly a big window, the wall opposite the crib is mirrored closet. The wall across the window, is the door and a dresser/changing table with 2 flower pictures above it.

If you place the large element above the crib now you can use the velcro / 3m Command wall connectors to keep it there in an earthquake, then the little bird will fit perfectly to the left of the window over the chair. . . .they are lovely and so is the room. . .

How about adding some horizontal stripes on the wall behind the crib, curtains as oneofeleven has suggested and the bird artwork next to the window. Also a small crystal chandelier would add the right feminine touch! Here are some examples.

Love the bird! It will look great next to the window. I would add a small table and lamp by the chair for reading to your daughter.

I really want to put a chandelier for a feminine touch but tough to convince my husband to replace that ugly ceiling fan..maybe add a floor lamp with crystal (see my link below)

now that I see the rest of the room and how much space you have, I realized you have room for built ins around the window. They wouldn't have to be custom made , there are lots of examples on the internet using Ikea billy bookcases, framed with crown moulding and Ikea bench for the seat. You wouldn't need any drapes then but you could make a little banner to hang across perhaps with fabric used to make the bench cushion. What do you think?

There are cute decals, which are great because as she grows, can be changed out. I like the tree decal for behind crib. You could add the bird picture to tree and add other items in same theme. On window a ink a ft celery green stripe roman shade would look cute. Put your bigger art over changing table and put those pics by chair and next to window. Do you have bedding? If not stay in the colors from shade, mix stripe with poke a dots, for a fun look. Yes for sure as small crystal chandelier. Would make this room. A easy install. Keep 7 feet from floor. Over changing table hang pic 7-8" above back of table. Yours right now are too small and high for that big wall.

Here is a link to some decals stickers that are removable. Usually, these are easier to arrange on the wall. I have the one that is not removable and it was difficult to stick it on the wall, especially that it had many small details

Lizky, thanks for your feedback! The green as a contrast should work. I'd suggest you use green somewhere else in the room for balance. I like the idea of a different paint finish for the stripe ex.: if your wall has flat paint, use satin finish on the stripe. Too bad the chandelier

hi again! we are getting ready to paint the baby girl's nursery and I can't decide on a color....I initially thought green then was sure I was going with teal as a more current and fun color...now I am wondering about going with pink. The biggest issue I have with this room and trying to work with is the brightness of pink on the rocking chair (it was a gift so I didn't pick out the exact color) I really want to tone it down with other colors in the room...thus the art work. now I am wondering if pink walls would be better to tone down the bright pink chair? what do you think?

Love the room. The pictures are wonderful, as is the crystal floor lamp. Pastels are the trend-- so perhaps butter cream and pink walls. Maybe you can get more room for the chair if you take the bookcase and turn it on end to the right of the window.

Hi Tiffany, I like the pale pink wals in your pictures, just wondering if I am stuck with bright colors because of the pink tone of the chair...

My guess is once there is more pink in the room it may not appear as bright as it seems now. You can also mix in other accessories that have that pink color in the print and it will start to make sense. Worse case you could slipcover the chair -- if not the whole chair at least the pillow back and seat. Surefit makes some reasonable priced covers for something simple.

A nice chenille mix of prints is so sweet for a baby's room and they don't need to be a tight fit. See this womans work for inspiration.

They are very simple to do. I think this one has only 8 pieces to it. You just use a level to mark a straight verticle line on the wall and line it up. Easier than you think. There is so much detail I doubt you could tell if it is not perfect.

Love the soft pink and cream colours and they would make wonderful horizontal stripes.

Look for a soft multicolour ( with pink in it ) throw for the chair. Would soften the look of the chair and great to cuddle in when up at night!

Sorry for taking this long to get back with you. Usually I get an email to alert me someone said something off the thread but it looks like I missed it.
Anyway, I love the idea of a slipcover that tiffany66 suggested - if you feel that pink on the chair is too bright. As for the stripe, I would try a baby pink color . Something subtle. You can buy a few samples at your paint store to see how it looks. That way you will only commit to the one you liked the most.

Definitely making a room baby friendly is important so check out all the renovation information you can before making a decision. The priority is the baby and how healthy they are. Use the right materials that will be easy to clean without creating clutter.

As a mom, I think that a floor lamp is not a good idea: as soon as your baby will crawl and walk, it will be hazardous. We carry pretty items from France that I think would really enhance the room. Have you considered a mural on the wall. Personally I love murals in children's room because that's where you can successfully pull it off if you choose cleverly. Rather than bunnies and rainbow consider something personal yet unique and "classy" (for a child).
