I am planning a gut renovation of a 2300 square feel Miami Beach cinder block ranch home built in the mid 50's.
The lay out will be open plan with 3 bedrooms and 3 baths. I would like to use the same tile throughout the house including bathrooms and patios. Currently there is brown 18" cuban tile in the living area and terrazo floors in the bedrooms.

I live in new england and am used to hardwood floors - cannot do that here because of potential flooding. The house is on the bay.

I would like a large tile to minimize grout lines. I am going for a minimalist , low maintaince look - plan to paint interior walls a gold color. I have looked at porcelain rectified tile and am overwhelmed by the choice.

Please help me narrow it down.

I want to love the tile after 15 years and not be saying 'what was I thinking'!
