It would feel a bit tight as the ceiling fan is half the wide of the room.

Lights Online & Dytecture: Thank you for the comments! I've seen two methods now: The "sq ft" method that Lights Online mentions and the "dimensions" method. The "sq ft" method appears to have more to do with air flow. This particular fan does not move a great deal of air - which is a plus in this case - but at 54" it is still large for a 128 sq ft room. The dimensions method we found ( http://www.hansenwholesale.com/ceilingfans/sizes.asp) seems to have more to do with the appearance. According to this web site our 9.5' X 13.25" room should be fine with a 54" fan. This pic from the Lights Online (thank you) web site is more constricted than our room.
