I am afraid that any decorations put there would distract from viewing the tv. I think it should be left with just the tv there. Boring, I know. But you give up mantle decorations when you put a tv there.

Not a part of your question, but I would love to see some books on the shelves here instead of just pictures. Love them in your room, but with shelving units like this, it is nice to have 1/3 books, 1/3 decor, which your pics are and 1/3 nothing.

ya, the bookcase is another job i'm tackling. i'm getting there. i'm afraid either side of the tv still needs something. i'm not looking for something crazy, just a nice candle treatment or something to fill it up. it's super empty. it was nicely decorated for the holiday and didn't disrupt the tv viewing at all.
