Remodeling kitchen - Which gas range?? Also advise on refrigeration.

We need help picking high-end appliances. We have a large footprint for our remodeled kitchen, we both cook and wish to get a 36" or 48" "pro-type" gas range with at least 6 burners, gas convection oven that will bake evenly. Burners need to be 15,000 BTU or more + simmer. We are considering Blue Star, Wolf, GE Monogram, or Viking. Please let us know your experience with these. Hood advice? Currently have a 30" Viking 10 years old that is great except for the igniters and the oven isn't well insulated.
Refrigerator/freezer: We have space for full depth, we can have up to 42" or 48" wide. Prefer NOT "built-in". Ideas?
Dishwasher: I've hear good things about Bosch. Are they as good and quiet as their reputation?

Our clients use Viking and a Wolf gas ranges, about 50/50. For dishwashers, I would say close to 100% use Miele.

I love my asko dishwasher...so quiet you can barely tell it's on. I have 48" wolf and 48" dacor...wolf hands down. Even though a newer model, I like my 36" French door subzero...but for overall space / storage, have to give nod to the 48" subzero. I have only used Viking convection (previous home) and really liked it.

And the large appliances are in kitchens in my two homes (not all one kitchen) :)

I loved my Asko dishwasher but. Check as I heard the company is not as reliable as it use to be. Boche is good too I have one of those also but if Asko checks out OK it is better. One thing that is wonderful with an Asko is space management, you can fit a lot of dishes in them and despite claims I found it quieter than the Bosche. I don't have gas so can't help you there.

Bosch are very quiet. However I am having a very hard time with getting the dishes clean. We basically have to wash them before we wash them. Yes, I did follow that old plumbers suggestion that dishwasher work better with dirty dishes. Didn't help. Friends with a Bosch also wash their dishes before they wash them. My 20 year old maytag cleaned better than this.

We are building and I also would like "experienced" advise on large gas ranges. Currently own Thermador and not impressed. Looking at Wolf 48" really would like to hear how people feel they cook!!!! High highs are important as well a maintainable lows!

Wasn't clear above...the wolf and dacor are ranges and subzero is fridge...love cooking on the wolf, but the dacor is so much easier to clean :)

Thanks for your comment dclostboy. I've heard that the Dacor ranges have gas ovens that don't keep accurate temperatures. What is your experience?

Thanks, FINNE Architects, for your comments. Curious about the installation and repair records of the Viking and the Wolf ranges? Are there local service people? How would you rate the performance of the burners and the gas ovens? On dishwashers, Is the Miele the "European design" with 22" depth, need to pre-wash the dishes, and, like the Bosch, not totally dry the dishes?? Would appreciate knowing.

The dacor range is almost ten years old temp gauge went out a couple of years ago on one of the ovens and just haven't had it fixed. Other one (larger one) still works fine. No issues with wolf at all.

We currently have 36" DCS range, but are pretty sold on going with a 36" Thermador dual fuel range for our new house that we are building. Looked at Thermador and Wolf and like the cleanability of the Thermador cooktop over the Wolf (our current DCS is hard to keep the cooktop clean because of how the burners are constructed). We currently have a Bosch dishwasher and it is quiet. Also, for the most part it cleans well, although recently we have had trouble getting all the dishes clean (it is 12 years old), but with a cleaning of the dishwasher itself, we seem to be getting better results. For our new kitchen we will likely do a Thermador dishwasher, because it comes free with the Thermador range (we will upgrade to a better model than the free one), for our second dishwasher we will likely get Bosch again. Thermador and Bosch are owned by the same company. Wolf is in the same company as sub zero. For refrigeration, we will get a counter depth standard refrigerator, likely Kitchen Aid or JennAir and then a Sub Zero drawer refrigerator for our produce.

I have a Frigidaire Gallaxy dishwasher and I love it. Cleans way better than the Bosch that I had before. It's very quiet. Am buying a note to post on DW that says on or off. I keep opening it when it's on.

Bosch is junk, they should stick to windshield wipers and screw guns. As far as appliances, it should be a law that you have to install wolf appliances and a sub zero built in fridge if I remodel your home!!! I recently completed a remodel in Belmont MA just outside of Boston and we reinstalled their 10 year old SZ fridge. You can't tell its not brand flippin new! I'm a SZ groupie

Bosch is junk...quiet, yes, but so is setting your dish on the counter. We got one of the pricier ones and it did not wash well, did not have an option to dry and was difficult to load. Awful. I am buying the FP dish drawers this time.

Have a FP dish drawer...ehh. It is our second dishwasher so it doesn't get a lot of use. I find it louder than the Bosch. Also, I find that dishes need to be pre-rinsed in it to get clean. And the drawer is not configured the best to get so much in...i.e. can fit 8 dinner plates and salad plates and the utensils, but maybe only 4 glasses.
