Barn Wood Cabin

So I decided to redo my cabin using barn wood in the interior, well barn wood and drywall.
/ 3d wall texture.
On The ceiling i used under roof board, pine, I put some linseed oil on the boards, 3 walls are barn board, mixture of grey and brown. the cabin has 600 sq feet.
2 small bedrooms and a open space for the rest.
lots of light/windows and a skylight too.(the white you see in two of the pictures is where the skylight will be)

now i have hardwood flooring to install (was given' some used stuff, oak very nice) but wondering how to finish it... I'm thinking of white washing...

any suggestions.

I would pick one of the darkest colors out of your walls and ceiling and stain the floors with that. It will anchor your house and create a more even color supporting the multi colors you have on the walls and ceiling. What is the white material up in the gabel end?

I'd just sand and seal with polyeurethane.

Oh my gosh, so beautiful!!

I too would like to see a dark floor, but that is up to you.

Dark you say, I was thinking of Gray washing it. Dark is a good option. I purchased a malm fireplace that I'm putting inside the room.

The end of the gable is white 3d board. And the opening will be covered with a small barn door.

Clear glass and Black on the hood, it's the imperial, but it sure is big, the room is only 19 x 11... This is from the 70s and when I got it it was hanging on chains so ill do the same

This inspiration photo does not have a wood floor, but I am posting it because I agree. Go light…because I think it will bring a different element into the room. Love your place and you have done one heck of a job!

Okay, if you are using a black malm (see, I used that like I didn't just hear that for the first time today, lol!) a would go medium-dark on the floor then.

Yes that's the fireplace, I'm looking to hang it by chains from the ceiling, the fireplace hangs 10 inches of the floor, but there's more going in... I plan to add the original 3x4 rafters that were in the barn on to the ceiling. a set of 4 rafters over the 11 foot span.

The fireplace will be 20 inches away from the wall,or just off centre, I haven't decided. Will move it around until I feel where it belongs...
