Whenever you see a picture of a really pristine paint job on an island in Houzz it's likely that the photo was taken right after the painter was finished. If you look at this area a couple of months after it has been installed you will usually see some wear & tear.

Dark colors seem to be the worst. The light colored primer under dark colored paint tends to exacerbate the problem visually. When you scuff the black or blue paint you are going to see white spots. The primer can tinted but tends to lose its adhesive qualities the richer the pigment colors are.
