House numerology

12 years ago
I am curious to hear what everyone here thinks about house numerology. Whether you believe in it or not. Have you felt the vibrations of your house numbers to be true? Do you have any good reads you can recommend on this? Internet seems to provide slightly different descriptions to the same numbers so not sure whether to believe any of these.. I am especially interested in the house number that adds up to 13 and then 4, any thoughts on that?
I strongly believe in house numerology.
I do not believe in house numerology.

    Happyasaclam, what about Feng Shui house numbers?

    Not sure about house numbers, but when we sold a property recently, our real estate agent had us set the asking price to include an 8 (excluding the trailing 0's), a good luck number to attract Asian buyers from overseas. For example, $188,000.

    Similarly, avoid prices with a 4, which is a bad luck number to the Chinese.

    Our house number adds up to 14 ... we are happy in our home!

    I don't believe in house numerology at all.
  • 12 years ago
    I know nothing of this. My numbers add up to seven. I don't know if this is a lucky Chinese number or not. If not, oh well, I am not moving. The principals of Feng Shui make some sense to me - get rid of clutter ect. But house numbers don't equate to luck or happiness to me.

    Our house numbers add up to 12. I'd be willing to give a seminar in phrenology if that would help.

    Mine add up to 30. Should I go pre-pay a funeral?

    Our house number adds up to 4. And we are happy!

    I know deer hunters who add up their tags as if they were cribbage scores :) does that "count" ? :)
  • 12 years ago
    mousemaker are your sure the deer hunters aren't adding up the deer's rack points?

    Don't invest too much in that nonsense. numbers can be arbitrarily changed by the city for a few reasons. I grew up in a house with the address 1411 and one day we were notified that our number would just be 11 with a different street name effective jan 1st. I remember it was very Confusing for my littlest sibling who had just learned our address lol

    I'll admit that it does influence me. Our current house number is 2424, I really like the symmetry. The house we just bought is 4181, the 19th number in the Fibonacci sequence.

    Did we make our decision solely on that? No! But like I said, it did influence me.

    At first I drove my partner nuts since I wasn't willing to live in certain numbers. Finally I broke down a broke my rules : / worst year of our lives. I grew up with it based on Kabalarism, no not Kabala ; )

    Add up all the numbers in your address till you get a single digit. There is a little more to the explanations, but here is the gist.

    1= a stopping place, not usually a permanent home
    2= water problems
    3= busy, social places
    4= never finished with anything. You go to bed thinking about what you need to do, wake up thinking about what you need to do.
    5= Money problems, can never get ahead
    6= comfortable and homey
    7= attracts culture
    8= attracts money
    9= death, illness, divorce, money problems, just bad things in general

    My streetaddy # equals 3. I'd say it has overtones of 2, 5, and definitely 4!!!!! Not 3...

    Numbers are what you make of them. I *did* live in the upstairs of an old Victorian that was 1/2 block from a busy and heavily used rail spur; that house DID vibrate. Being on one of the old fashioned non baffled waterbeds, it wasn't enough to make it a vibrating bed, just enough you had to learn to sleep through it. When they decided they had to jackhammer the street in front of it, we had to duct tape our fridge shut and the cupboards or everything danced OUT.

    Feng shui at least has some decorating bits I can buy into; making the place more comforting.

    I even rented a condo for a year that was 666 Ash Street addy. It was just a NUMBER. It was a really sweet condo.

    Without planning it, my last four addresses each added up to 6. I have been at my current address for 25 years and both the street number and unit number add to 6. I'm not a believer in numerology, but I find it interesting that 6 means comfortable and homey which has always been what I try to achieve in my home.

    This has been a learning experience for me! Fibonacci, Kabalarism and Chinese Lucky Numbers. I'll be reading up on those after I take the grandkids to school. I was kidding about the Feng Shui - but I do have a book on and I really can't find it, and I really don't believe in Numerology :D Or Astrology :D

    Some people do believe this and are influenced by it when purchasing a home. It happened to us when we were selling our home in California.
  • 12 years ago
    I didn't give it a thought when we bought our house (oh no!! now i'll have to go back to 1990 and reconsider!!! :) ) I like two of the numbers in our address--they are the answer to the question that we don't know what it is :) (if you know what I mean? -- Hitchhiker's Guide, anyone?)

    42!

    excellent :)

    That sounds more like feng shui or something like that. My mom had a book once about how to arrange everything in the house to create a flow of positive energy. I guess numbers are kind of similar?

  • 2 years ago

    Well, maybe. I'm not too into arranging my space for positive energy flow, and I doubt my apartment follows any of those principles. But numerology seems really interesting to me. I enjoy reading articles about what does when you keep seeing 4444 means, how to find your lucky number, and what it means when you keep seeing it. These things can actually influence your life and how you perceive it.

    Have to admit this is the first I've ever heard about house numerology.
