Master Bedroom Transition

I just bought this bed set (stock photo) because it completely is the opposite of what I normally like and I completely LOVE IT! My biggest delimma, I don't like gray walls and every room that I have researched with this combo shows gray walls and matching the coral isn't designer chic. I am not really a super coordinated person. I like the unexpected. I am a little eclectic and I lean towards a little coastal. My furniture is black, I have white plantation shutters... Any ideas or suggestions would be welcomed.

      I will take a picture later. I just took up the carpet and have bare concrete flooring at the moment.

      Here it is in the rough. The side tables are getting redone and are moving to my daughters room. As for the floors, I will most likely do wood. I had considered polishing the concrete.

      This is Pratt & Lambert Winters Gate...I've found it much lighter / more subtle than other grays I've used

      Another option is to go "not quite white" on the walls and paint trim (and crown molding) in a deeper gray gloss like Pratt & Lambert Timeless Gray

      How about a very light version of the coral. I could see that work with any kind of wood, but it would be really kind of funky in combination with a polished concrete floor and a white flokati rug.

      Something like SW Coral Kicks? Looks good online, but it's dark here now (I'm in Europe) so I can't check it on the paint deck to see how it looks 'live'. Will do tomorrow.

      what about painting the walls a slightly gray white and then getting some silvery silk curtain panels or fabric to hang on the wall behind the headboard from the ceiling. I keep seeing silver in the picture here! And some large silver framed mirrors for some reason???

      ....or do it in the coral color and just keep your walls white with framed silver mirrors above each nightstand. Or get to silver pendants or swag lights to hover over nightstands. I know these suggestions are not very coastal, but the comforter doesn't give me that beach vibe. it's very pretty, just looks much dressier to me.

      coral and gray bedroom with white walls................just add some detail into your wall with molding to make it more interesting.

      The problem is that the gray currently on your walls is too dark -- that's all. Dclostboy offered a nice option in gray because it has a brown hue, which would compliment the warm tones of the coral. A lighter shade of gray is the best option -- something very subtle. if you're looking at paint swatches from a paint store, you would need to look only at the two lightest categories.

      Thanks mpoulsom -- I missed that! Oh well...I've already uploaded photos so she can compare 2 bedrooms painted in dark shades of gray and 1 bedroom painted in a light shade. I was thinking that Light French Gray from Behr Paint would be a good option.

      I am really appreciating all the input here. I am thinking I really like the lighter coral color. I was afraid to go too coral as to be matching. And I may punch it up with some silver touches brushed and metallic. I have to be cautious with fabrics hanging on the walls that collect dust. My allergies will have the best of me.

      Maybe you could do a neutral wall shade and use bright and eclectic shades of coral!

      Funny. I also have plantation shutters and my husband and I are about to start decorating and I have no idea what we are going for! I'll have to make my own post on a later day.

      Since you like a coastal feel, I was thinking about that light coral colour. Think it will be gorgeous with the bedding and the white shutters. And it makes a difference from the ever used grey paint for the walls. I just checked the SW fan deck and it's actually called Koral Kicks (SW 6610). It's more orange than how it seems on the perfect colour swatch I posted.
      In any case, take the coral pillow to the paint shop and pick a couple of colours that look good with that to try out in your room.

      Just read about your allergies. So maybe you don't want a rug? Or could you cope with a Dash and Albert woven cotton rug for example? They have a huge array of colours and I'm thinking that a grey or coral herringbone woven one could maybe be an option?

      I have two great mirrors I could incorporate too one huge 40" diameter round one and a 24x56" mirror. Both in the same pewter finish. Maybe one could be the focal point over the king sized bed
